The 1909 Llanrwst airship report opens a north-Wales record that runs through a 1961 Penmaenmawr disc to modern Llandudno reports.
Conwy has 21 geographically validated reports. Its record opens in the 1909 mystery-airship wave and continues along the north coast to modern Llandudno and Colwyn Bay.
On 23 May 1909, an account at Llanrwst described an airship with a yellowish light at bow and stern, making dramatic manoeuvres. That wording — airship, lights — is close to the contemporary language of the 1909 British “scareship” wave, and this is how the report is best read: as a local note in a national mystery-airship scare, not a spacecraft claim.
In September 1961, a “humming-top” metallic grey disc was reported at Penmaenmawr. It is a specialist-archive record; independent press coverage has not been recovered.
